Policies
(and whatnot)

B.O.Otv operates under the regulatory observation of the British Organisation for the Locating, Logging, and Observation of Critical Keystone Spectres. All paranormal data harvesting and anomaly categorization are conducted within strict fictional and narrative boundaries as governed by our internal safety protocols.

(fictional)
TERMS OF USE

DATA LOGGING

Every anomaly report is archived in our secure, air-gapped terminal. We track frequency spikes and spectral resonance without deanonymizing the observer.

PARTICIPATION

Submission of anomaly reports, field notes, or psychological evaluations constitutes a transfer of containment rights to B.O.Otv. Participants agree to psychological screening prior to advanced clearance levels.

ENCRYPTED TRANSMISSION

Submissions are routed through a triple-layered VPN to prevent intercept by non-human entities. Your electronic signature is scrubbed to Level 7 standards.

ACCESS PROTOCOL

Access to B.O.Otv transmissions and logs is restricted to authorized entities. By entering this classified feed, you acknowledge that all data relating to spectres and anomalies is property of The Hosts.

CLASSIFIED STORAGE

Visual evidence is kept in cold storage. We do not sell your proximity data to ghouls or corporate poltergeist research groups.

CONDUCT

Interference with spectral logging equipment or unauthorized leak of classified keystones is strictly prohibited. Failure to adhere to containment protocols will result in immediate extraction from the site.

OBSERVER PROTECTION

Your identity remains redacted to prevent targeted hauntings. Site members are protected by the Keystone Protocol, ensuring zero spiritual tracing.

About This Website

This is a private website for our Halloween events. It is intended for invited attendees and exists to provide event information, allow guests to interact with the event and each other, and host some of the activities surrounding it.

This isn't a commercial website or public service. Access is restricted, and most interactive areas require a member account.

Information You Provide

Depending on how you use the website, you may provide information such as:

  • your name, display name, and email address when creating an account

  • information you choose to add to your personal profile

  • posts, comments, and other contributions to member areas

  • responses to event registrations

  • messages sent through the Contact Us form

  • Casting Call applications

  • Anomaly Submissions, including any photographs, videos, or other material you choose to submit

You don't need to provide information that isn't relevant to the event.

Please don't include private information about another person in anything you submit, without their permission.

Who Can See Your Information

Member profiles and community areas are restricted to registered site members.

You can choose whether your member profile is visible to other members.

Information submitted privately through Contact Us, Casting Call, or Submit Your Anomalies, is accessible to The Hosts rather than being automatically being made visible to the other attendees.

Some submitted material may subsequently be selected for the Anomalies Gallery, Stay With Us, or other parts of the event. Where this applies, the relevant submission form will explain how that material will be used.

Wix And Website Services

This website is created and hosted using Wix.

Wix provides services including website hosting, member accounts, groups, forms, event functionality, video and other features used by this site. In providing those services, Wix may process technical and account information such as IP addresses, device/browser information, and information associated with your use of the website.

You can read Wix's Privacy Policy for more information about how Wix handles information through its services.

Password Protection

The outer password protection for the website is provided by Password Protected Page by Purple.

The developer states that passwords are checked within your browser using SHA-256 hashing rather than being sent to its server for verification.

The app also uses external infrastructure to record information associated with page views and usage statistics. Our website scan has identified requests associated with these functions.

Cookies And Similar Technologies

This website uses cookies and similar browser technologies for purposes including essential website operation, security, account functionality, preferences, and website statistics.

When you first visit, the cookie controls allow you to make the choices available to you. You can reopen those controls using the privacy control available through the website and change your preferences later.

For more information, see Cookies.

Keeping Things

We may keep event accounts, contributions, and submitted material while the website remains useful to attendees and as part of our record of the event.

Administrative information that is no longer useful, such as obsolete enquiries or applications, may be deleted.

Some photographs, videos, submissions, or other event material may be retained as personal memories of the event.

Want Something Removed?

If you've submitted something and later want it removed, or have a question about information you've provided through the website, contact The Hosts.

We'll remove or amend material where reasonably possible.

Please bear in mind that something incorporated into an existing photograph, video, or completed recording may not always be practically removable from every copy retrospectively.

Keeping The Fiction Seperate

B.O.Otv, B.O.L.L.O.C.K.S, Stay With Us, and their associated investigations are part of the Halloween event.

This page isn't.

Anything stated here about your information, privacy, or how the website actually works in real-world information and takes precedence over anything said in-universe elsewhere on the site.

Cookies

What Are Cookies?

Cookies and similar technologies are small pieces of information stored on, or accessed from, your device when you use a website.

This website uses them to help the site work properly, provide features you request, remember certain choices, protect forms and accounts from misuse, and understand how parts of the website are being used.

What Does This Website Use?

The technologies detected on this website fall into the following categories:

  • Essential - these support things necessary for the website to operate, including security and spam protection, website resources, and services such as Google reCAPTCHA

  • Functional - these support website features and presentation, including resources needed to display parts of the site correctly

  • Analytical - these can provide information about website use and technical performance. This includes statistics associated with the password-protection service and technical error reporting used by Wix.

  • Marketing - our current website scan has detected no marketing components

Your Choices

When you visit the website, our cookies controls allow you to make the choices available for non-essential technologies. Essential technologies may operate without your consent where they are necessary to provide the website or a service you've requested.

You can change your choices later using the privacy control available on every page of the website.

Password Protection

The website uses Password Protected Page by Purple as an additional access gate. Its developer states that the website password is checked within your browser using SHA-256 hashing rather than being sent to its server for verification. The service also makes requests to external infrastructure associated with page-view and usage statistics. These have been identified as analytical components in our website scan. The website will remember you for one day by default, and then you will need to re-enter the site password to continue.

More Information

For information about member accounts, submissions, Wix, and how information provided through the website in handled, please see Privacy & Data.

If you have a question about this website or its privacy controls, please contact The Hosts.

Website & Community Rules

This is a private website for attendees of Stay With Us and future Speakeasy productions. Its community areas are here so we can plan, chat, share things and generally start behaving suspiciously long before anyone arrives at the party.

Please help us keep it pleasant, private, and fun for everyone.

Be Excellent To Each Other

Treat other attendees with respect.

Harassment, bullying, threatening behaviour, discriminatory abuse, deliberate attempts to upset other members, or other seriously inappropriate behaviours aren't welcome here.

Disagreement is fine, but being horrible to somebody isn't.

Remember That This Is A Private Space

Please don't copy, screenshot, or share other attendees' posts, profiles, photographs, or conversations outside the group without their permission.

Likewise, don't post somebody else's private or personal information without their permission.

The password and member access are intended for invited attendees and members are approved manually, but please don't pass login or access information to other people regardless.

Post Things You're Entitled To Share

Please only upload or post photographs, videos, artwork, writing, or other material that you have the right to share.

You don't necessarily have to have created everything you post - sharing or discussing existing material can obviously be perfectly legitimate - but please don't present someone else's work as your own or upload material in a way that infringes on their rights.

If you're submitting something specifically for use by Stay With Us, please also read Submissions & Media which explains what permission you're giving to the Hosts to use it.

Other People In Your Content

If you submit photographs, video, audio, or other material in which another person is identifiable, please make sure they're happy for you to share it here.

Please be particularly careful about material containing private information or people who aren't attending the event.

Keep Accounts Yours

Please use your own account rather than someone else's, and don't attempt to access information on another member's account, or in areas of the website you aren't supposed to access.

If something appears to have gone wrong with your account, contact the Hosts rather than attempting increasingly imaginative acts of digital archeology.

Keep The Game A Game

B.O.Otv, B.O.L.L.O.C.K.S, and Stay With Us are fictional parts of the Halloween event, and are thoroughly encouraged to play along with the fiction.

Please don't use the fiction as an excuse to genuinely frighten, deceive, harass, or embarrass, any other attendee.

Do not damage their belongings, or interfere with their ability to enjoy the event.

And don't deliberately present real-world safety, privacy, or practical information as part of the game.

The Hosts Can Moderate The Site

The Hosts may edit, hide or remove posts, comments, uploads, or other material where reasonably necessary to keep the website safe, usable, and appropriate for the event. We may also restrict or remove someone's website access if their use of the site is causing a serious problem.

This isn't intended to police ordinary conversation or harmless nonsense, it simply gives us the ability to deal with something if we genuinely need to.

Something Gone Wrong?

If you spot something that shouldn't be here, accidentally post something you didn't mean to, have a problem with another piece of content or attendee, or want to ask us about any of these rules, please contact the Hosts.

We'll deal with it like "human beings".

The Boring-But-Important-Bit

These rules concern the real website and the real people using it.

Anything elsewhere on the site suggesting that B.O.L.L.O.C.K.S has absolutely authority, B.O.Otv owns your soul, anomalous entities have waived the right of appeal, or similar nonsense is part of the event fiction and does not override these rules.

Submissions & Media

Part of Stay With Us involves contributions from our guests - suspicious photographs, inexplicable recordings, stories, demonstrations, interviews, investigations, and whatever else you lot decide to bring to B.O.Otv's attention.

This section explains what happens when you deliberately submit something for use in the event, and what to expect from photography and filming on the night.

Things You Submit To Us

If you send something through Submit Your Anomalies, Casting Call, or any other area that specifically invites material for Stay With Us or the event, you're giving The Hosts permission to use that material for the purposes described here.

This may include:

  • displaying it on this private website

  • including it in the Anomaly Gallery

  • displaying, discussing, or referring to it during the event

  • incorporating it into Stay With Us

  • adapting its presentation where reasonably necessary - for example, resizing an image, shortening a submission, adding captions, or incorporating it into an event graphic

  • including it in photographs or recordings made during and for the event

  • keeping the resulting media as a personal record of the occasion and sharing it privately with attendees

This permission is non-exclusive. You still own your work and are free to use it elsewhere.

Submitting something does not transfer your copyright to The Hosts, B.O.Otv, B.O.L.L.O.C.K.S, or the unusually persuasive entity currently living behind Studio Camera 2.

What You're Confirming When You Submit Something

Please only submit material that you're entitled to share with us and are comfortable to allow us to use in the ways listed above.

If somebody else created the material, please make sure you have any permission you need before submitting it.

If another person is identifiable in a photograph, recording, or other submission, please make sure they're informed and comfortable with it being submitted and used as described above.

Please don't include somebody else's private information without their permission.

Not Everything You Post Is A Submission

Posting something in the group, commenting on other posts, or chatting with other attendees does not, by itself, give The Hosts permission to turn your post into programme material.

The additional permission described above applies when you deliberately submit material through an area that invites contributions for the event, or otherwise specifically agree that we may use it.

If we spot something brilliant in an ordinary community post and want to use it in Stay With Us, we'll ask you.

Casting Call

Submitting a Casting Call response tells us that you're interested in taking part in Stay With Us. It doesn't guarantee airtime and it doesn't commit you to participating if you subsequently change your mind.

If you are selected, we'll agree with you what you're actually doing before the event.

Depending on your contribution, this might involve being interviewed, telling a story, demonstrating something, presenting material, participating in an investigation, or otherwise appearing as part of the programme.

Because parts of Stay With Us are being recorded, taking part on camera means your contribution and appearance may form part of a resulting event recording.

Photography And Filming At The Event

Photography, video, and audio recording, will therefore take place during the event, and guests may appear incidentally in recordings of the room, audience, activities, or general proceedings.

Anyone deliberately appearing as a presenter, interviewee, contributor, investigator, or similar participant, should expect that part of their participation may be recorded.

The resulting material is intended for the private enjoyment of The Hosts and attendees as a personal record of the event.

We are not asking for permission to commercially exploit your appearance or publish the finished programme to the general public.

If that every changes, we would treat it as a separate use and seek appropriate permission rather than assuming attendance at this event covered it.

If You Don't Want To Be Filmed

PLEASE TELL THE HOSTS.

We'll make reasonable efforts to accommodate you - for example, by keeping you out of deliberate interviews, featured shots, or other planned filming.

Because this is a social event taking place in a relatively small space and recording is an integral part of the theme, we can't promise that somebody will never appear incidentally in the background of any photograph or recording, though we will always try our utmost to accommodate preferences.

If this is particularly important to you, please speak to us before the event  so we can work out what is practical.

Changing Your Mind About A Submission

If you've submitted something and subsequently don't want us to use it, contact the Hosts as soon as possible.

Where reasonably possible, we'll stop using it and remove it from places under our control.

There may be practical limits once material has been incorporated into something else (particularly photographs, edited graphics, or completed video recordings), but we'll discuss that with you rather than pretending the laws of video editing don't exist.

Sharing Event Photographs And Recordings

Material produced for Stay With Us is intended to remain within the private social context of the event unless we explicitly say otherwise.

Likewise, don't publicly repost photographs or recordings featuring other attendees without considering whether the people involved are really happy for you to do so.

Something being visible to members of this private event does not automatically mean it was intended for the wider internet.

Questions

If you're unsure whether something is suitable to submit, want to know how something will be used, or want to withdraw something you've sent us, please (say it with me now) contact the Hosts.

We would much rather you ask.

Real world beats party world.

For Avoidance Of Any Anomalous Doubt

B.O.Otv and B.O.L.L.O.C.K.S may claim considerably broader powers elsewhere on this website.

THEY ARE LYING.

This page describes the actual arrangements for submissions, photography, and recording at the event.
